Soft Hearted Calm Rooms

Quiet corners — small zones styled for pause in Lisbon flats

A corner is enough

Many Lisbon apartments cannot spare a full bedroom for stillness. Soft Hearted Calm Rooms styles quiet corners: a chair angled from the door, a low surface for a cup, a textile that softens tile echo. The goal is spatial clarity, not a programme on a schedule.

Chiado shutters and narrow light

In Chiado, light often arrives in stripes through wooden shutters. We place seating where the stripe falls softly in late afternoon, and keep tall storage out of that band so the corner does not feel like a corridor dump. Mist blue-gray accents cool the clay plaster common in older stock.

Alfama footprints

Alfama rooms can be irregular — a jog in the wall, a deep reveal, a window that looks onto a neighbour’s courtyard. We map the usable triangle for a chair and footrest, then edit anything that crowds the turn radius. Compact apartments reward ruthless editing more than new furniture.

What we leave out

We do not install clinical equipment, branded “pods,” or session calendars. A quiet corner is a styled piece of your home — Soft Hearted Calm Rooms handles the design layer only.
